Cat Care Assistant or PetSmart Cat Adoption Center Assistant -
14-15 years old must volunteer with parent or legal guardian
16 years old must be accompanied by parent to Introduction to Cat Care
(one training session)
17 years old and up accepted without parental supervision

Community Outreach - On-Site and Off-Site -
17 years old
Training requirements depend upon venue and audience
Four events/year

Off-Site Dog Adoption Assistant -
Same age and training requirements as Dog Care Assistants, valid driver's license
Individual or small group training with staff or seasoned volunteer
Six off-site adoption events/year

Fundraising and Special Events -
Age and training requirements determined on an individual basis
As needed basis

Dog Adoption Counselor -
18 years old
Introduction to Dog Care, Intro to Shelter Dog Training,
Adoption Counseling Training
8 hours per month

Humane Education -
21 years old w/ daytime availability & valid driver's license
Intro to Dog Care and/or Intro to Cat Care plus
individual training as needed
Three tours or visits per year

Foster Care -

Training with foster program supervisor or seasoned foster volunteer
