My family and I went to the shelter to donate some canned food and we were visiting with the cats. I had been wanting a second pet for our home for a long time. We adopted our dog Dave in 2001 from another organization and I have been a huge advocate for animal adoption ever since. We needed to find a cat that was good with dogs, as well as kids, and Bella was one of them. We visited with her and she seemed so shy and sweet, I could hardly say no to having her come home with us. So I filled out the paper work and we were granted the privilege of taking her home! It took some time for her to put Dave the dog in his place, but they are now best buddies. And that shy kitty is hardly that! She is friendly, loving and soooo patient with our 2-year-old. It wasn't just luck that brought us together, it was fate. She is my beloved lap cat and accomplished mouser! We all adore her!! We love her dearly and I am now an even bigger advocate for adopting! There are amazing pets out there that are looking for love and deserve it more than anything. Thank you, MHRHS, for saying yes and helping our family to grow by one more!
