I just wanted to send a long overdue 'happy tail' as a thank you for the amazing dog I and my then-girlfriend adopted from the shelter back in Sept. '05. Honey was a five-month-old mystery hound mix, who was evidently dropped off by her owner after five months of neglect and possible abuse. She was very timid, but you could tell she was really sweet and affectionate.
She was really nervous at first and wasn't fully housebroken, but with time, training and a lot of love, she got used to her new surroundings, became very sociable and is now a fantastic two-year-old dog. I can't believe anyone would have wanted to get rid of her -- she's so incredibly friendly and loving. She's also now the hit of my apartment complex and any dog park I take her to. I'm a very lucky dad.
