Our dog Gilda hated being alone and I told the vet about her separation anxiety. The doctor said: "[MHRHS] has a nice shepherd down there, I just neutered him." As the doctor suggested, I called the shelter and inquired about the shepherd. The person I talked to said, "He's a big mush. You'll fall in love." I brought a friend along to meet him with me. Billy (then Chewbacca) jumped on me and held on and it was love at first sight.
Next, we brought the scared boy home to meet his new friend. Gilda immediately fell in love, too. They played until they could play no more (and still do). I haven't lost any more shoes, books or furniture since Billy arrived on the scene. And he is a big mush.
